Scope

This policy describes the Windows desktop app published by Simple Test Apps, internally named SimpleHymns. The Android app has a separate policy.

Your repertoire stays on your computer

The Windows app works offline and does not require an in-app account. It does not implement advertising, analytics, cloud synchronization or automatic upload of your library.

Songs, lyrics, chords, albums, presentation settings and other preferences are processed locally. The app stores its library and presentation background images in your Windows user folder at %LOCALAPPDATA%\SimpleHymns\Windows. This app-managed folder is not encrypted by the app; protect your Windows account and backups.

Import, export and presentation

The app reads files you select for import and writes files you choose to export. A presentation background image you select is copied into the app's local data folder. Imported files and images are not sent to Simple Test Apps.

When you choose to share an exported file through another app or service, that destination receives the file under its own privacy practices. Presentation displays the content you select on your chosen screen.

Retention and deletion

Your local library and preferences remain on your computer until you delete them. Updating the app is intended to preserve them. Uninstalling the direct-download app does not erase the library; the planned Store package is configured to preserve the same data folder.

You can delete songs and albums within the app. To remove all app-managed local data, close Hymns, back up anything you want to retain, and remove the SimpleHymns\Windows data folder. Exported files and backups elsewhere must be removed separately.

Installation services and the website

Microsoft Store may process account, installation, update and diagnostic information under Microsoft's privacy statement. GitHub handles direct downloads under GitHub's privacy statement. These services are separate from local library processing in Hymns.

This policy does not cover browsing the Simple Test Apps website. See the website's cookie information for that activity.

Support and changes

If you email support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you send and use them to respond. Email is processed through the email service. Avoid sending personal data or your entire repertoire unless needed for the request.
